EPT Flexitank Success In Russia

May 18, 2011
EPT concluded another successful TransRussia exhibition.  The international transportation and logistics event was held in Moscow, April 26th – 29th.
“This was our second year to participate at TransRussia and it once again was a very busy and productive event,” explained Tatiana Golovina, Founder of EPT.  “EPT’s Russia office has seen tremendous growth over the past year and this exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to meet with customers as well as introduce our BIG Red Flexitank to new prospects.”

The EPT booth featured a full-scale mock-up of the flexitank atop of the display area. Tatiana stated that the sheer size of the flexitank caught people’s attention and several commented that it was very instructive to see what a 24,000 liter flexitank looks like out of the 20′ container.

EPT manufactures the only flexitank that is authorized on the Russian Rail (RZD) system.  “We’re very proud of our testing performance and rail accomplishments.  Having the ability to consider rail gives our bulk packaging customers greater options in logistics planning.” Tatiana further explained that one of EPT’s customers is now shipping in flexitanks via rail into the north regions of Russia and recognizing significant savings in shipping costs.  Using the BIG Red Flexitank enables them to replace 59,000 drums with 546 flexitanks resulting in 26% fewer shipments. This not only reduces shipping costs, but also reduces the need to store and reposition the drums and prevents the potential dumping of drums in makeshift ‘landfills’.

EPT’s BIG Red Flexitank delivers packaging and logistics solutions.

The TransComp Exhibition is the largest annual gathering of freight transportation professionals in America.  The presentations and forums were good opportunities to hear from industry experts regarding the economy and the freight industries’ outlook for the future as well as global supply chain requirements for the next decade.

“The attitude was generally upbeat since we’re beginning to see an upswing in intermodal volumes,” said Jennifer Phillips, EPT Sales Manager.  “We’re part of a resilient industry and it was positive to see so many attendees and exhibitors at this year’s show.  We made good connections with new suppliers and had positive meetings with potential customers for our BIG Red Flexitank as well as our BIG Red Dry Liner product.”  Ms. Phillips added, “Everyone is looking for ways to reduce costs but still safely and efficiently deliver their products.  Our goal at the tradeshow was to communicate the potential savings of using our flexitank over ISO tanks, totes or drums and to illustrate the innovative features we’ve incorporated into our flexitank system to help protect the cargo as well as the container.”

AAR Damage Prevention & Freight Claim Conference

July 7, 2010

Last week Environmental Packaging Technologies (EPT) participated at the Association of American Railroads (AAR) Damage Prevention and Freight Claim Conference 2010. The conference was held at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel in Chicago, IL from June 28th – 30th.

EPT was a Gold Sponsor of the event which included over 200 railroad, supplier and shipping professionals and over 60 exhibitors.  This year’s conference focused on the latest technologies to ensure safe and damage-free delivery of freight via the North American rail network.

EPT showcased our unique BIG Red Flexitank and Swept-bar Bulkhead.  We featured the only flexitank that has passed both the AAR’s Rail Impact Test and Rail Simulation Test.  Our flexitank and Swept-bar Bulkhead has also completed Terminal Handling Procedures with the CN and is the only flexitank approved by the Russian Railroad (RZD).  Guests to our booth were amazed to see our video from the Russian Rail test showing our flexitank withstanding rail impacts over 5 mph with both doors open.  We were happy to have the opportunity to demonstrate EPT’s commitment to increasing damage protection and enhancing safety.
